Joseph Hirning

Joseph Hirning was the first known Hirning immigrant, he arrived in Clarion County, Pennsylvania in 1846.

 


Christopher Hirning

Christopher Hirning arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1848

 


Martin Hirning

The only Hirning known to participate in the United States Civil War. He was a private in Backof's Battery Artillery (Missouri Union Forces), enlisting in April 23, 1861 at St. Louis, MO, at the age of 23. He was wounded on May 10, 1861 by a minie ball through the mouth at Camp Jackson, Missouri.
